Kudos to Adam Silver.

The NBA honestly is ahead of everyone. Using the saliva testing before anyone.

Best commissioner in sports and it’s not even close. They’ve had a plan and they’ve executed it so far flawlessly.

The best commissioner in sports is the head of an organization with dropping television ratings.

Allowing "Black Lives Matter" bullshit to be emblazoned on the court itself, as well as allowing bullshit slogans on the uniforms was
an outrageously bad decision.

Which is why ratings are in the fucking toilet.

Dana White isn’t a commissioner, he is the President of a company, UFC.

Mr. White is bound by Athletic Commissions in every state, and all around the World, however, with that said, he’s done an excellent job leading the Company during these hard times...

Pretty impressive all things considered, regardless of the injection of political stuff (even if you think the commish is an idiot for that, what choice does he have? 75% of the league is black)

Also, while this folks on both sides of the spectrum probably disagree with this for different reasons....I'd say the NBA (as well as other "woke" corps) have done a pretty good job of just paying lip service w/ meaningless buzz words than actually saying anything truly uncomfortable or that would really upset anyone. They wouldn't even allow "redlining" on jerseys.

I think their global support has put them in position to be successful for this. China in particular loves them some NBA. :103631605

Dana White just spends other people’s money with zero skin in the game. Ufc is also pretty close to bankruptcy. Not a great commissioner if the object Of the league is to make $. NBA tv ratings are great in the category they care about 18-49. Obviously down with the old trump crowd but if you are the NBA do you really care if old men aren’t tuning in? They will be dead soon and their kids and grandkids are watching. Most likely they stream the broadcasts through apps or web so ratings aren’t that accurate anymore.

I know what he is Matt. Call him the President or commissioner or whatever you’d like. The president is the commissioner.

Why do you keep saying the UFC is bankrupt? Genuinely curious as I saw his in another thread like a week ago. Their deal w/ ESPN is gravy.

Fighters get way more exposure now than they did 5-10 years ago. I figured w/ piracy that the PPV model would be dust by now and Masvidal/Usman did over 1M buys. Ferguson/Gaejthe did 700k and neither is even that big of a name.

It ain't for everyone but in the increasingly niche entertainment landscape, putting 2 guys in a cage and getting some % of people to find that compelling is not the hardest sell.

Ur exactly correct. That's why top ufc fighters keep trying to go to a dead sport like boxing in order to make real money. The ufc simply doesn't pay. Thats why guys like jon johns and mcgregor hardly ever fight anymore for the organization. It's why Fedor never bothered and why GSP simply walked away. The money simply isn't there...

Yeah, I think Rockets are better than ever playing 5 out w/ no traditional big now as long as Russ can get healthy. Covington for Capela trade was really good.

I'd still be decently surprised if LAL lost to Portland but given their lack of talent after the big 2, they probably gonna have to fight for it and getting rest seems huge in the bubble. The series are gonna start 1 after another with no breaks in between series. It is really gonna become a grind in the next few weeks soon so dusting these rd 1 teams has value.

LAC has their hands full w/ Doncic too but I got LAC 3-1 to title so they better get it together.

Have Rockets 15-1 but for smaller, was more of a hedge against LAC play.

Remeber guys. They are only playing OKC. A team that almost everyone thought was a lottery team before the season. Chris Paul took this team on his shoulders, but it looks like he might be running out of gas. I mean who even is there second best player, Steven Adams, SGA?

People keep saying OKC overachieved but that isn't really true. If you told me they were gonna have that team all year, have no injuries then most people would've had them around where they are. It was thought before the season they were going to keep firesaling players but once they play the season with that team at basically full health, their expectations were normal.

I don't give Rockets too much credit for beating them though. Although it is always somewhat impressive when you dust a team 2x to start playoffs w/o your 2nd best player. Just step on their throat and take care of business. Harden had a horrible offensive game today as well.

I think a lot of people thought chris paul was close to done, wouldn't be motivated, or would simply be injured all season. He did none of those and was simply the chris paul he has been his entire career. One of the best pound for pound players in the NBA.

So in less words, yep, i agree with you.

edit: I am not sure houston could play much worse and still won going away. That was a weird game. It was like everyone on houston's roster shot 2 of 12 from 3. But i guess that also means every player made 2 3s.
